Another Serious Post

I went to another Jumu'ah last Friday, as usual. With the difference being that this is the fasting month of Ramadhan, which means that school kids are on the holiday, so it was a lot more crowded than usual.

Of course I tried to go to sleep after I found a spot to sit somewhere around the stairs on the back entrance. But it's not because I got sleepy, my body halready had its revenge this morning. It's mainly because I don't really want to hear the khutbah because, well, it bugs me. It was mostly about the law made by God vs the law made by humans, and the content along with the deliverance method felt too extreme for me.

The khatib stated that the law made by God is absolute, which is kinda true when we (us muslims) think about it since they're stated in the holy Qur'an and all. But the other thing he pointed out is that everything else can suck satan's dick.

So basically, everyone else is Saddam Hussein

Now I understand that as a muslim we need to obey the laws made by God, but I never recalled anything about disregarding other laws made by humans in order to cope with the progressing civilization. You know, the law made to make sure we can live in harmony since not all of us living in this world are muslims. I kinda wonder if he actually forgot about that fact.

Oh, nevermind, he actually remembered the fact that we're living among non-muslims. He even nicely pointed it out by referring them as heathens that are lower than animals.... Wait, what the hell?

That last part was not necessary at all, we don't need any more seeds of conflict between religions, it's not like we don't have too many of it already. I got lots of non-muslim friends, and I even know some who doesn't believe in God at all (hell, my own cousin became one thanks to that extreme way of thinking), yet I don't see any of them deserve to be treated like that.

Just because we're muslims doesn't mean we have the right to have that holier-than-thou attitude, many non-muslims have been doing a better good for the society than these extremist jerks. Take Bill Gates for example, one of the most famous non-muslim, who have been donating billions of dollars through his foundation. Or even the Youtuber PewDiePie, who have raised millions of dollars for charity even though he claimed that he doesn't really believe in God.

The case might apply generally in the past, where the heathens were everywhere and they were thoroughly seeking the destruction of Islam religion by lower-than-animal methods. But in this era, we live in a more tolerant society where non-muslims could live side by side with us muslims and help each other. Although there are also extremist jerks on their side as well, in which the same case would apply for them.

You saw this coming, didn't you

See, this is why I don't really like people who study their religion way too much. Most of the ones I know simply end up narrowing their view the more they 'understand' their religion. It doesn't mean everyone is like that, I also know the ones that are still open and friendly to society instead of condemning them for not sharing the same belief.

There was a man, an Ustad who even I respects, his name was Jefri Al Buchori. He was very famous among the teenagers because of how simple he was, he never shown that he's higher than anyone, and his preaching was made in a way that all kinds of people would love it. He was "the devil's advocate" - to quote himself - back in the past (he was a heavy drinker, drug junkie, and goes to clubhouse a lot), which is why many shunned him on his early days of redemption.

Or probably because the world was not yet ready for his awesomeness

But in the end that earned the respect of many people because they felt that he was no different than them. And his preaching was always about the good of Islam, he never talked trash about the non-muslims or any hate inducing topics, so everyone loved that man. Too bad he passed away in 2013.

Like I've stated before in the past overrated post, I'm not a proper muslim myself, and this might be an inaccurate story-telling due to the fact that I did fall asleep in the end, but at least I know what I heard. And I'm going to quote the one I still remember (because it was dumb as hell):

"We are enacting the law of men instead of the law made by God, this is why pornography, rape, and every other crime still exists. These laws are made by the heathens that seek to destroy our unity as muslims."

And I thought this guy didn't make any sense

Gee, no wonder we are branded as terrorists by the western society. This way of thinking is exactly the reason why there are real terrorists and suicide bombers out there who are trying to be the "God's hand of justice".

Since I don't really like talking about grim stuffs, let's just end this one here. And please remember that a religious life is not only about following the commandments of God, it's also about the act of kindness and living in harmony among the people.

This world has seen enough conflict as it is, let's help ending it by at least not being an asshole to the next person we meet. Here's a video of a kitten to help brighten up the mood.
